What is Kioku?

Kioku (記憶, "memory") is an index of anime sites: where to watch, and soon where to read, track and find the apps and tools around it. Every listed site has its own record page with features, facts, cautions and links. More drawers open over time; the ones marked 準備中 are coming soon.

Does Kioku host or stream anything?

No. Kioku is a directory. It links to other sites and never hosts, uploads, embeds, proxies or mirrors anime, manga or any other media, and it offers no downloads.

Who runs Kioku?

Kioku is started and maintained by Rio (ObsessiveBf on GitHub). The Community page has the Discord and the credits.

Is Kioku free, and does it track me?

Kioku is free and static. There are no accounts, cookies, analytics or third-party requests. The only things stored in your browser are your own preferences: the theme, the motion toggle, the list/cards view, the music player volume and the 18+ confirmation.

How does a site get listed, and what do 公式 and the star mean?

Suggest a site in the Discord: post its name and address and say why it belongs. Rio reviews suggestions and adds them. 公式 Official marks licensed services and first-party projects. The star (おすすめ) marks the top picks in a list.

Why is a site I know missing?

Either nobody has suggested it yet, it did not meet the content policy, or it belongs to a drawer that is still 準備中. Ask for it in the Discord.

What is the difference between official and unofficial sections?

Official sections list licensed services and first-party projects and are filled by contributors. Unofficial streaming, reading, download and tracker sections, and adult entries, are added only by the owner and always carry a standing caution. Empty owner-curated sections are hidden.

What does "Last checked" mean on a record?

A human verified the entry on that date. Imported entries have no checked date until Rio reviews them, so treat them as a starting point and report anything that has moved.

How do I search?

Press / or Ctrl/⌘ K anywhere, or use the big field on the home page. Search covers names, aliases, taglines, categories, guide headings, glossary terms and these questions. Enter opens the Kioku page; Shift+Enter opens the site itself.

Do I need an ad blocker?

For the official services listed here, no. We still recommend one: it cuts tracking and blocks malicious ads everywhere else. See the Ad blocking guide.

I run a site or hold rights to something listed. How do I request a correction or removal?

Message the team in the Discord, or use the contact address once it is published. Kioku removes links on request from site owners and rights holders and corrects facts that are wrong.

How do I know a site is safe?

Kioku lists canonical domains only, so compare the address bar with the domain shown on the record. Never install software a site pushes on you, and read Browsing safely for the common tricks.

How can I contribute?

Join the Discord. Suggest sites, report links that moved, flag wrong facts and help check the list. The code stays private for now, so everything goes through the server rather than pull requests.

Is there a Discord?

Yes. Join through the Discord button in the header or the Community page, or directly at discord.gg/yM5RxwKaT9. Socials that still say 準備中 (coming soon) are not set up yet.
